HEAD OF SCHOOL UPDATE Melanie Woods
Dear Parents and Carers,
‘Ending Well’, learning about the Nativity, and consolidating our learning has been a focus for all of our Primary students and staff over the past few weeks. We want to thank you for partnering with us during 2024, so that the students can be all that God has created them to be. May you have a blessed and safe Christmas and summer break.
The Nativity Our talented students were able to perform songs at our Nativity Performance earlier this week, with a choir of over 750 talented students! Their sound brought tears and feelings of warmth to the parents and carers listening. It was encouraging and meaningful for the students to have such an engaged audience. Thank you for your support!
Taster Day K-6 All of our On Campus students at ACC enjoyed a morning in their 2025 year groups last week. They also had the privilege of meeting the new students and families from other schools who will be joining our community in 2025. There were classrooms filled with joy and laughter as they experienced what school will look like for them next year.
We do understand that change can be tricky for many of our students. In response, our staff are providing meaningful and intentional opportunities, so that our students continue to experience glimpses of next year. We hope this will ease their transitions, and they will feel welcomed and prepared to return to the College in 2025.
Year 5 Camp During Week 6 our Year 5 students had an amazing time at their CRU Camp at Lake Macquarie. CRU worked diligently with us to create an exciting, God-focused camp for our students. They participated in a variety of land and water activities such as orienteering, rock climbing, raft building and stand up paddle boarding. They had a wonderful camping adventure!
Year 6 Celebration Assembly Our Celebration Assembly for the Year 6 students was a wonderful opportunity for family, students and staff to come together and celebrate their transition from Primary to Secondary School. We celebrated with a formal assembly and an abundant morning tea. Afterwards, the students headed off to Ten Pin Bowling and Laser Tag which featured more food, action, fun, and memory-making.
Library As we approach the end of Term 4, we would like to kindly remind all families to return any library books your child has borrowed.
If your child would like to continue reading over the summer, we are excited to let you know that our eBook system will still be available during the break. It’s a great way for your child to enjoy a wide selection of books from home!
Our eBook system is available by installing the ‘ePlatform' app from Self Service, or going to https://accmarsdenpark.eplatform.co/, and following the prompts to log in with your child’s ACC email address.
Thank you for your support in helping us maintain an organised and accessible library for all students.

SUMMER SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM - K-6
During the end of year break, ACC is hosting the Young Engineers STEM Program, an exciting opportunity for students in Years K-6. Designed to inspire and educate, the program offers children the chance to explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through fun and engaging activities.
Young Engineers programs help students develop critical skills for the digital age, including problem-solving, teamwork and creativity. It is a fantastic way for children to learn while having fun in a dynamic, supportive environment.

CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD - 3M Ashleigh McGowan
This term in History, Year 3 has been learning about celebrations and commemorations that Australians take part in. Students compared these with the celebrations and commemorations of various other countries. After thoroughly enjoying our research, 3M then spent time looking at how Christmas is celebrated across the world and how Christians remember the true story of our Saviour Jesus' birth. The students loved to share their own Christmas experiences and how they celebrate this wonderful time of year with decorations, food and special events. Here are some beautiful examples of the work they did to investigate the Christmas traditions in Australia, France, Japan and Brazil.
EMBRACING THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS - 2V Cornelle De Villiers
As the Christmas season approaches, our Year 2 students are embracing the joy and wonder of this special time by reflecting on its significance according to the Bible. While engaging in festive arts and crafts, they focused on the true meaning of Christmas: celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, our Saviour, and the hope, love, and salvation He brings to the world.
In our creative sessions, students explored symbols that tell the story of Jesus’ birth. Through crafting stars, angels, and nativity scenes, they deepened their understanding of the events on that holy night in Bethlehem. These moments of creativity were paired with meaningful discussions, helping students connect the joy of the season and the incredible gift of God’s love.
When one student asked about the significance of the Christmas tree, we explored its Christian symbolism. The evergreen tree, with its triangular shape, serves as a reminder of the Holy Trinity — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It also represents Christ’s everlasting life, and the new life we have through Him.
We look forward to sharing these beautiful projects with our school community and celebrating the true meaning of Christmas together!
BUDDY LETTERS - 3C Judy Carlos
As our year of learning and fun in 3C is drawing to a close, the students had the opportunity to post letters to students at other ACC campuses. Each letter included heartfelt messages from the students and work that we hope will inspire friendships to flourish. These 26 letters will make their way over to students at ACC Benalla and ACC Casey. We are hopeful they will bring extra joy to this end of year season, and that the receivers will enjoy our handwritten messages.
