The out & about in the world of Elite Pursuits Program (EPP) Julie Kennedy
Brooke Komorowski - Year 9 (Distance Education)
Last term, ACC DE student Brooke Komorowski, played at the NSW All Schools Tennis Championships in Bathurst as a part of the U18’s CIS Tennis Team. Brooke played outstandingly in hot conditions and finished the tournament ranked Number 1 player, which means she has qualified for the School Sport Exchange in Hobart, later in the year. Awesome job Brooke!
Jax Alderton - Year 7 (On Campus)
Jax is an incredibly gifted BMX athlete, who is ranked Number 1 in NSW, and holds a current Top 10 ranking nationally. Jax has an incredibly packed training and competition schedule, which includes being a NSWIS Athlete. Last term, Jax competed for ACC and the Hunter MTB Championships, just for something different! He had an amazing day of competition and finished both Funduro and Cross Country events with highly placed finishes. Well done Jax!
Equestrian NSW Interschools State Championships
During the April school holidays, several of our ACCMP Elite Pursuit Program students competed at the Interschools State Championships at Sydney International Equestrian Centre. Well done to Adelaide (Year 9) who competed in the Show Jumping on her horse Joey (pictured). Big congratulations to Andy (Year 8) who qualified for Nationals in Dressage after some outstanding results in her tests.
Triathlon
Well done to EPP Students Edwina and Adelaide Biermann who recently competed at the CSSA Triathlon, both achieving outstanding individual results.
Tennis
It was wonderful to spend the day out at Tennis NSW with several of our Elite Pursuit Program tennis players. I enjoyed watching them train, and then spending time with some of them planning their Term 2 assessment and tournament schedules.
Swimming
During the last week of Term 1, some of our Elite Pursuit Program students competed at the 2024 Australian Age Championships held at the Gold Coast, QLD. Well done to Bonnie and Ava for their efforts!
Pole Vault
Brother and sister dynamic duo, Csenge and Nimrod, both recently achieved some outstanding results in the world of pole vaulting.
In December 2023, Csenge won the National All Schools Championships of U14 pole vault. Last month she won the Australian Championships in Under 15s and Under 17s, with the best height of 365 cm (a new NSW U16 record) - AMAZING! Not to be outdone, younger brother Nimrod also won the Australian Championships in U14 pole vault, clearing 290 cm. Fantastic achievements by both students!
